Emily & Louis' Oxford Wedding Video: A beautiful Day at New College & Rousham Gardens
Louis and Emily became husband and wife at New College Chapel, Oxford, in August 2024. The historic setting held special significance for the couple, who both studied and met at Oxford University, making it the perfect place to begin their next chapter together. Their day began under an overcast sky, but as the day progressed, the sun emerged, casting a radiant glow over their celebrations. New College Chapel, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, dates back to the late 14th century and is renowned for its stunning stained-glass windows, soaring arches, and timeless elegance. The ceremony was enriched by musical performances from the couple's talented friends. A moving violin solo and a soulful rendition of "Stand by Me," accompanied by acoustic guitar, left not a dry eye in the room.
As the ceremony concluded, Louis and Emily embraced one of New College’s unique customs: walking either side of the iconic statue of Lazarus as they exited the chapel, a poignant and symbolic beginning to their journey as a married couple. After the ceremony, guests boarded a classic red Routemaster bus to Rousham Gardens. Designed by the famed William Kent in the 18th century, Rousham is considered one of England’s most unspoiled landscape gardens, with its serene water features, classical temples, and sweeping views of the Cherwell Valley. Under the brightening sky, the couple and their loved ones enjoyed confetti, drinks, and canapés within this idyllic setting, surrounded by nature. As the evening unfolded, guests gathered in an especially erected marquee, where both Emily and Louis delivered heartfelt speeches. The celebration continued with the cutting of their wedding cake, followed by a lively band that kept the dance floor buzzing and brought the day to an unforgettable close.
